3. INSTALLATION

PREPARATORY WORK: No primer is required for EPO Anchoring Cement. Holes must be clean and dry, free from dust, dirt and other contaminates prior to application. New concrete should be cured approximately 30 days before stress is applied to anchoring bolts. Freshly drilled holes need only to be blown out with clean, oil-free compressed air.

METHODS: EPO Anchoring Cement may be poured into holes prior to bolt placement. Hole diameter should be a t least 50% greater than bolt diameter to allow room for anchoring cement. Holes should be filled approximately 1/3 of depth before bolts are inserted.

APPLICATION: EPO Anchoring Cement is designed for horizontal application, but may be used for vertical applications if additional filler is added. Fillers such as fine silica (sandblast) sand, silica flour, or powered calcium carbonate (marble dust) may be used. Additional fillers should not exceed 10 lbs. for the 45lbs. kit and 2-1/2 lbs. for the 10lbs. kit. Cement may be troweled or tamped into clean holes prior to bolt installation.

MIXING: EPO Anchoring Cement is designed for use with a 5 gallon can electric paddle mixer. However, it may be mixed with a strong electric drill and Jiffy mixer. Mixing ratio for liquids is two parts A to one part B, by volume. Stir each component thoroughly before combining. Component A and Component B should then be premixed thoroughly for 3 to 5 minutes prior to the addition of aggregate.

Aggregate should be added slowly and mixed thoroughly for an additional 3 to 5 minutes with epoxy mix until uniform mortar consistency is achieved.

Mix Should then be poured into hole. Approximately 45 to 90 minutes per mixed batch will be available at 75° F. in a 1 gallon mass.

EQUIPMENT CLEAN-UP: Clean tools and equipment immediately with Acetone. In California, use allowable solvent or soap and hot water. Do not allow epoxy to set hard on tools or mixing equipments.

PRECAUTIONS: Avoid prolonged contact with skin and breathing of vapor. Use with adequate ventilation. Keep out of reach of children. Do not allow product to freeze.
