EPO Coat VA

Versatile, heavy-duty epoxy coating for concrete, metal, wood, masonry and demanding industrial environments.

EPO Coat VA is a durable epoxy coating offering excellent adhesion, wear resistance, chemical resistance and weatherability. Its versatility makes it well suited for industrial, commercial, marine and severe-service applications.

Unlike Dynamis 100% solids coatings, EPO Coat VA is a solvent-containing system. The solvents help the coating penetrate more deeply into porous substrates such as properly prepared concrete and also provide a longer working time than many 100% solids epoxy coatings.

Because EPO Coat VA contains flammable solvents, proper ventilation must be provided and the material must be kept away from flames, sparks and other ignition sources during application.

Excellent Penetration on Concrete

EPO Coat VA works particularly well as a complete coating system for concrete.

Its solvent-containing formulation helps the first coat penetrate into properly prepared porous concrete, promoting strong adhesion and helping seal the substrate.

A penetrating first coat can then be followed with a heavier finish coat for added durability, protection and appearance.

For most concrete applications, two coats are recommended.

Durable Industrial Protection

EPO Coat VA provides a tough protective surface with excellent adhesion and resistance to wear and many commonly encountered chemicals and industrial contaminants.

Its durability makes it particularly useful in mining, marine, oil and other heavy-industrial environments where surfaces may be exposed to moisture, abrasion, chemicals and repeated service.

For steel and other metal surfaces exposed to particularly corrosive environments, Dynamis Zinc Rich Primer may be used beneath EPO Coat VA for additional corrosion protection.

Working Time and Cure

Dynamis Epoxy uses 75°F as its standard room-temperature testing condition.

At 75°F:

• Working time: approximately 1–2 hours
• Sweat-in time: approximately 30 minutes
• Light foot traffic: approximately 24 hours
• Heavy-duty traffic: approximately 2–3 days
• Full cure and maximum chemical resistance: approximately 7 days

The extended working time makes EPO Coat VA particularly useful on larger applications where additional placement time is beneficial.

Warmer temperatures will shorten working and cure times, while colder temperatures will extend them.

Coverage

Coverage will vary depending on the surface and application.

For concrete, a penetrating primer coat followed by a heavier finish coat typically provides approximately 100–150 square feet per gallon total for both coats.

Coverage on smoother or previously sealed surfaces may be greater.
