EPO Resurfacer
Heavy-duty epoxy resurfacing system for restoring worn and deteriorated concrete floors.
EPO Resurfacer is a tough, trowelable, three-component epoxy system specifically formulated for resurfacing old or deteriorated concrete floors and for providing a durable protective surface over new concrete.
Each kit contains pre-measured epoxy resin, hardener and aggregate, providing a complete resurfacing system that produces a tough, wear-resistant and chemical-resistant topping for industrial concrete floors.
Where Is EPO Resurfacer Used?
EPO Resurfacer is designed for areas where the concrete is structurally sound but the surface has become worn, deteriorated, uneven or damaged over a larger area.
Typical applications include:
- Worn and deteriorated industrial concrete floors
- Manufacturing and processing areas
- Warehouses and work areas
- High-traffic concrete surfaces
- Areas exposed to repeated wear and abrasion
- Restoration of larger sections of damaged concrete
- Protective surfacing of new concrete floors
Unlike a coating that is applied as a relatively thin film, EPO Resurfacer creates a substantial epoxy and aggregate topping that can restore badly worn concrete and provide a durable new working surface.
Designed for Larger Concrete Repairs
EPO Resurfacer can be hand-troweled to the desired thickness using slow, positive strokes. For larger installations, the material may also be power-troweled to produce a more consolidated finish.
The pre-measured kit system helps simplify installation and reduces the possibility of mixing-ratio errors in the field.
Patch & Grout or Resurfacer?
The condition and size of the repair generally determine which product should be used.
Choose EPO Patch & Grout for localized damage such as holes, spalled areas, broken sections and individual repairs.
Choose EPO Resurfacer when deterioration extends over a larger area and the objective is to restore or resurface an entire section of concrete floor.
Both products provide the strength and durability of an epoxy repair system, but EPO Resurfacer is specifically designed for larger-area resurfacing applications.
Standard and Low Temperature Cure
EPO Resurfacer is available in both Standard Cure and LTC — Low Temperature Cure formulations.
Standard EPO Resurfacer is intended for applications where the concrete surface temperature is approximately 50°F or above.
EPO Resurfacer LTC is designed for applications where low-temperature curing is required and may be applied to properly prepared concrete at temperatures as low as approximately 34°F.
The LTC formulation may also be used at warmer temperatures when a faster cure and quicker return to service are required.
Temperature has a significant effect on both working time and cure time. Warmer temperatures will shorten working and cure times, while colder temperatures will extend them.
Working Time at 75°F
Dynamis Epoxy uses 75°F as its standard room-temperature testing condition.
Standard EPO Resurfacer
- Working time: approximately 30–45 minutes
EPO Resurfacer LTC
- Working time: approximately 15–20 minutes
Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is essential for a successful installation.
Concrete must be:
- Structurally sound
- Clean and dry
- Free of paint, grease, oil, dust, dirt and other contaminants
- Properly prepared to provide a suitable bonding surface
New concrete should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 30 days before EPO Resurfacer is applied.
If water or pressure washing is used during surface preparation, the concrete must be allowed to dry completely before application.
Pre-Measured for Consistent Results
EPO Resurfacer is supplied as a complete three-component kit containing the proper proportions of epoxy resin, hardener and aggregate.
The components should be mechanically mixed according to current Dynamis Epoxy application instructions. Do not shake the components.
A timer should be used during mixing to ensure the recommended mixing procedure is followed consistently.
Once mixed, EPO Resurfacer has an appearance similar to wet concrete and is troweled onto the prepared surface to the desired finished thickness.
Cure Terminology
To provide consistent information across Dynamis Epoxy products, cure stages are described as follows:
Initial Cure / Tack-Free
The surface is no longer tacky to the touch.
Ready for Service
The repaired surface can accommodate foot traffic and light-to-medium use or contact.
Full Cure
The chemical reaction is complete and the product has reached its final hardness and performance properties. The product will not continue to become harder after full cure.
Working and cure times are based on testing conditions and can vary depending on material temperature, concrete temperature, ambient temperature, batch size and jobsite conditions.
